Abstract
Starting from the notion that language discourse can act at different levels, this study aims at emphasising the importance of reformulation as one of the fundamental elements of the language, allowing the shift from a high discourse density to an informal one. To this purpose, some theoretical aspects of the problem will be analysed in the first part of the study, which will later allow us to establish the basic concepts for the analysis of the main features of specialist languages, while in the second one some examples will illustrate the process of reformulation-popularization from highly specialized scientific texts up to the popular ones.
