Recepción pre-herreriana de las tesis bembianas

Published 2015-07-20

Abstract

The Prose della volgar lingua (1525) represented the codification of the italian poetic language and offered a reflection on the problem of language that established the main elements of the literary and linguistic debate. Enormous influence they had on a few Spanish writers who assimilated the bembian theories to provoke similar advances in Spanish Golden Age literature. Even if the change didn’t happen until Herrera, there were a few writers who, before the sevillian, expressed or naturalized the bembian literary and linguistic keys and brought them to Spain. This article studies the different adoption of the bembian thesis by these Spanish pre-herrerian authors.
